§ 33.04  AUTHORITY TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR PROMOTING BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY.
    The City Council does hereby adopt and create an ordinance under the city’s home rule authority, and pursuant to I.C. 36-7-2-7 whereby said City Council is hereby authorized to budget and appropriate funds from the General Fund of the city, to pay the expenses of or to reimburse city officials for expenses incurred in promoting the best interest of the city. Such expenses may include, but are not limited to, rental of meeting places, meals, brochures, decorations, memorabilia awards, expense incurred in mileage to functions relating to city promotion, interviewing job applicants, expenses incurred in promoting industrial and commercial development, expenses incurred in promoting residential development,  expenses incurred in developing relations with other units of government and any other expenses of a civic or governmental nature deemed by the City Council to be in the interest of the city. The Clerk-Treasurer is hereby authorized to adopt claim forms necessary to submit a claim herein to the City Council for payment and approval. Said expenses shall be paid only upon due claim and approval by the City Council.
