For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PEDDLER. One who goes from place to place, and from house to house, carrying merchandise for sale.
SOLICITOR. Includes those persons who, going from person to person or from house to house, seeking orders, subscriptions, contributions, or any other kind of support, or who, without necessarily having the intention of making sales, distribute literature, pamphlets, handbills, samples, and the like for the purpose of information, advertising, or the furtherance of public, political, economic, religious, or social beliefs, doctrines, systems, or projects.
TRANSIENT DEALER. One who establishes himself or herself in business in a locality with the intention to remain there for a short period of time only, and who for such limited time, occupies a place for the exhibition and sale of his or her wares.
