§ 33.19  HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD.
   The Housing Authority Board shall consist of five Commissioners, residing within the area of operation, appointed for five-year terms by the Mayor whose appointments shall be referred for approval or denial by a majority of the elected members of the Council within 30 days. Vacancies shall be filled in a like manner for the unexpired term. A certificate of appointment or reappointment shall be filed with the City Clerk-Treasurer. A Commissioner shall receive no compensation but shall be entitled to necessary expenses incurred in performing duties. At its first meeting in June of each year, the Housing Authority Board shall organize by electing from its membership a Chairperson and a Vice-Chairperson. The Board shall have authority to employ an Executive Director who shall serve as ex officio Secretary. The Housing Authority Board shall have the powers and exercise the duties as provided by the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 71-1572 through 71-1580.
