§ 32.25  FIRE CHIEF; DUTIES.
   (A)   The Fire Chief, who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council, shall manage the Fire Department and shall keep the Mayor and Council advised of its general condition, proposed additions and improvements thereto, and requirements thereof. The Fire Chief shall cause the repair, improvement and maintenance of the equipment and shall personally supervise the same. The Fire Chief may authorize members of the Fire Department to attend fire training schools as permitted by the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 18-1712 through 18-1714. In accordance with Neb. RS 81-506, the Fire Chief shall investigate or cause to be investigated the cause, origin and circumstances of every fire occurring in the city by which property has been destroyed or damaged and shall notify the State Fire Marshal of the facts thereof. The Fire Chief may enter into all buildings and upon all premises for the purposes of examination at all reasonable hours, pursuant to Neb. RS 81-512.
   (B)   The Fire Chief may waive the statewide open burning ban on all bonfires, outdoor rubbish fires and fires for the purpose of clearing land, pursuant to Neb. RS 81-520.01.
