§ 32.24  CHIEF OF POLICE; POLICE OFFICERS; DUTIES.
   The Chief, of Police shall supervise the Police Department and shall have, together with the police officers, the power and the duty to arrest all offenders against the laws of the state or of the city in the same manner as the Sheriff and to keep offenders to prevent their escape until a trial or examination may be had before a proper officer. The Chief of Police shall have additional duties as specified by the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 17-118, 17-121 and 17-124 and the ordinances of the city.
