Pursuant to the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 18-1722.01, whenever the Mayor and Council have determined by resolution that a property is unsafe or unfit for human occupancy because of one or more violations of this code, the Building Inspector shall file a copy of the resolution in the office of the Register of Deeds of the county (without payment of a fee) and place a notice on the property reading substantially as follows:
This building has been found by the Mayor and Council to be a unsafe because of one or more violations of the building regulations. This notice is to remain on this property until it is repaired, vacated or demolished in accordance with the notice which has been given the owner, occupant, lessee, mortgagee or agent of this building, and all other persons having an interest in the building as shown by the land records of the Register of Deeds of the county. It is unlawful to remove this notice until compliance therewith.
