§ 94.20  REQUIREMENTS.
   In accordance with the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 17-505 and 81-502, the rules and regulations promulgated by the State Fire Marshal concerning the prevention of fires; the storage, sale and use of flammable liquids, combustibles and fireworks; electric wiring and heating, protection equipment devices, materials, furnishings and other safeguards; exits; liquefied petroleum gases; hazardous materials; tanks; and accessibility standards shall be enforced within the city by the Fire Chief. Where these rules and regulations are lacking, the standards recommended by the National Fire Protection Association, Pamphlet Number 101, known as the Life Safety Code, and associated pamphlets, shall be enforced except when doing so would impose an unduly severe or costly burden without substantially contributing to the safety of persons or property. In accordance with the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 18-132, not less than one copy of the Life Safety Code shall be filed for use and examination by the public in the office of the City Clerk-Treasurer. Additionally, pursuant to the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 81-512, the Nebraska Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act of 1969 and the Petroleum Products and Hazardous Substances Storage and Handling Act shall be enforced; and pursuant to the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 81-520.01, the statewide open burning ban may be waived in writing by the Fire Chief or his or her designee.
