§ 93.030  LICENSE.
   (A)   Licensing of cats is not required. In accordance with the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 17-526 and 54-603, any person who shall own a dog within the city shall within 30 days after acquisition of the dog acquire a license for each dog annually by or before May 1 of each year. The tax shall be delinquent from and after May 31; provided, the owner of any dog brought into or harbored within the corporate limits subsequent to May 1 of any year shall be liable for the payment of the dog tax levied, and the tax shall be delinquent if not paid within 30 days thereafter. Licenses shall be issued by the person designated by Council resolution and upon the payment of a license tax set by Council resolution. The license shall not be transferable and no refund will be allowed in case of death, sale or other disposition of the licensed dog.
   (B)   The owner shall state at the time the application is made:
      (1)   His or her name and address; and
      (2)   The name, breed, color and sex of each dog owned and kept by him or her.
   (C)   A certificate that the dog has had a rabies vaccination, effective for the year of the license, shall be presented when the license is applied for, and no license or tag shall be issued until the certificate is shown.
   (D)   Dogs under the age of four months need not have proof of a rabies vaccination to be issued a tag provided that upon the dog’s four month anniversary the rabies vaccination is completed and the certificate of vaccination is presented to the designated city official.
