Employees of the city shall be relieved of personal liability, and the city shall hold harmless all employees acting in good faith and without malice from all personal liability for any damages which may occur to any person or property as a result of any act required or authorized by this chapter, or by reason of any fact or omission of any employee in the discharge of the employee’s duties hereunder. Any suit shall be defended by the city or the city’s insurance carrier.
