(A) Creation. There is hereby established a DC Public Safety Fund to receive Dearborn County Local Option Income Tax funds specifically raised for the purpose of Public Safety.
(B) Purposes of the fund. The funds on deposit in the DC Public Safety Fund may be used for the operation of the Police and Fire Departments and any other use deemed appropriate for the public safety within the City of Aurora, including, but not limited to, salaries and wages, supplies, equipment, health insurance benefits, repairs and similar expenditures.
(C) Appropriations. The City Council of the City of Aurora may authorize the expenditure of funds from the DC Public Safety Fund by appropriation in the same manner as other funds appropriated that receive tax monies, upon making a finding that the proposed use of the funds is consistent with the intent of the fund.
