§ 34.05 FIRE SAFETY OFFICER.
   (A)   The Fire Department shall have one Fire Safety Officer who shall be appointed by the Fire Chief but no person shall be appointed to the office of Fire Safety Officer who has not been a member of the Fire Department for at least five years prior to his appointment.
   (B)   Upon his appointment, the Fire Safety Officer shall be in charge of and be responsible for all fire safety at fire scenes and at the Fire Department and during all training sessions, including all apparatus and equipment safety.
   (C)   The Fire Safety Officer shall report any safety violations or safety issues to the Fire Chief.
   (D)   The Fire Safety Officer is responsible for keeping up to date all fire safety and health issues and informing the Fire Chief of these issues, according to the state fire codes.
   (E)   When the Fire Safety Officer resigns his position or is succeeded in office, for any reason other than expulsion, he shall continue as a member of the volunteer fire department.
