(A) No person shall install any electric apparatus within the corporate limits without first having obtained a license to do so hereinafter provided. In addition, no licensed electrical contractor, master electrician or journeyman electrician may lend his or her license to any person or knowingly permit the use thereof by another. The Building Inspector shall recommend and the City Council shall issue licenses to those persons who have been issued a valid and unexpired electrician’s license by the state; provided, the persons shall have complied with the other terms and conditions precedent to the issuance of licenses as required in this chapter.
(B) In the event that the applicant holds a license issued by the state, the license required herein shall be in the form of an occupation tax certificate. Application for a license shall be made to the City Clerk in writing showing the name and residence of the applicant, the business location of the applicant and other information as may be required.
