It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership, corporation, association, receiver or trustee to engage in any business, occupation or activity as an itinerant merchant, transient merchant or itinerant vendor within the city without having first obtained a valid license, issued pursuant to the terms of this subchapter, to carry out the business, occupation or activity.
