For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ITINERANT MERCHANT, TRANSIENT MERCHANT or ITINERANT VENDOR. Any person, firm, partnership, corporation, association, receiver or trustee, whether acting as owner, agent, cosignee or employee, and including both residents and nonresidents of the city, who engage temporarily within the city in the business of selling and delivering goods, wares, merchandise or chattels of any description or of taking orders for the goods, wares, merchandise or chattels, to or at any homes, apartments or other residential premises within the city.
