§ 73.060  GENERALLY.
   (A)   No person shall operate a motor vehicle on any street, alley or other place within the corporate limits at a rate of speed greater than 25 mph unless a greater rate of speed is specifically permitted by ordinance. The greater speed has been designated as follows: U.S. Highway 73-75 (“J” Street) and U.S. Highway 136 (Central Street) shall have the speed limits as the Nebraska Department of Roads shall deem appropriate with the consent of the City Council. Any determination shall be posted on “speed limit signs” throughout the special speed area.
   (B)   In no case shall these speed limits apply to emergency vehicles in the process of responding to an emergency; provided, the driver of the vehicle shall operate the vehicle with due regard for the safety and well being of those using the streets and highways.
