§ 71.05 SPEED LIMITS.
   (A)   Definitions. The following terms shall apply to this chapter as written, other terms used in this chapter shall be as defined in the Kentucky Revised Statutes:
      “CITY STREETS.” For the purpose of this section, shall include those streets or roadways, within the city limits, the speed on which is not controlled by state or Federal law.
   (B)   Speed limits. 
      (1)   No operator of a vehicle upon the city streets within the city limits of Auburn Kentucky shall drive at a speed greater than 25 miles per hour.
      (2)   A person shall not drive a motor vehicle at a speed that will impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, except when reduced speed in necessary for safe operation or in compliance with law.
   (C)   Changes to speed limits. Whenever the City Council of Auburn determines, based upon an engineering and traffic investigation, that the speed limit set forth herein is greater or less than is reasonable or safe at a specific location, the City Council may by motion, duly passed, determine and establish a reasonable and safe speed limit for that location.
   (D)   Penalties. The penalty provisions of state law, and any amendments thereto, shall apply to those guilty of violation the provisions of this section.
