§ 50.09 MAINTENANCE OF SERVICE LINES.
   (A)   All service lines one inch and smaller in diameter will be maintained at the expense of the customer from the meter where a meter pit is used, or from the curb stop where an interior installation has been used, as applicable. The town will maintain service lines from the public water main to the meter pit, or to the curb stop, as applicable.
   (B)   Existing services which extend to a customer not adjacent to a water main, whether through public or private property, are considered to be a private service line, the maintenance of which shall be solely at the customer's expense.
   (C)   When an unmetered leak is detected by the town, the property owner will be notified in writing and given appropriate time from the date of the letter to eliminate the leak. If the leak is not repaired within this time, the town will take appropriate corrective action and all costs will be billed to the property owner.
