9-1-27: PENALTIES FOR MISDEMEANOR:
   (A)   It is a misdemeanor for any person to violate any provision of this chapter unless such violation is by other law of this state declared to be a felony.
   (B)   Every person convicted of a misdemeanor for a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter for which another penalty is not provided shall for a first conviction thereof be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00), or by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) days; for a second such conviction within one year thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not less than twenty five dollars ($25.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00), or by imprisonment for not more than twenty (20) days, or both; and for a third or subsequent conviction within one year after the first conviction, such person shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both.
