8-1-24: RURAL ROUTE MAILBOXES:
   (A)   Postal Requirements: All mailboxes in the city intended as the receptacle of the U.S. mail shall meet those requirements of the United States postal service for the delivery of the U.S. mail.
   (B)   Additional Placement Standards: The city, in addition to the requirements of the United States postal service, shall require these additional placement standards:
      1.   On noncurbed streets, the rural mailbox shall be placed a sufficient distance from the street to allow the mail delivery vehicle to be parked at the rural mailbox without impairing the flow of traffic on the street.
      2.   On curbed streets, that part of the mailbox closest to the street in a line perpendicular to the exterior wall of the curbing.
   (C)   Penalty: Violation of subsection (B) of this section shall result in a twenty five dollar ($25.00) per day fine, or may be enforced by injunctive relief requiring the removal of the rural mailbox from any placement that violates this section. (Ord. 03-03, 4-1-2003)
