(A) Arrest Authority: All members of the police department shall have power to arrest or cause to be arrested, with or without process, all persons who shall break the peace or be found violating any provision of this code, and shall have power to detain or order the detention of all such persons in custody in some safe place overnight, until such persons can be duly examined by and before some competent court or proper officer.
(B) Enforcement: It shall be the duty of the members of the police department to enforce all provisions of this code, and to preserve peace and good order in the city. (Ord. 5, 2-6-1917)
