5-1-6: DUTY OF DEPARTMENT:
It shall be the duty of the fire department to lead in and to direct the gaining control of and extinguishing of fires in the city, and in preserving and protecting property from loss by fire, water and theft. (Ord. 6, 2-6-1917)
