The Village requires that all companies, corporations, or individuals placing steel roadway plats in the right-of-way of any street, alley, or public right-of-way notify the Village Service and/or Utility Department upon placement and removal of any plate. The contractor name, employee contact name with a 24-hour emergency telephone number, location and number and size of plates, and the approximate number of days planned for placement shall be submitted either by telephone or via fax notification. All plates over open excavations are to be held in place by the use of a minimum of four pins or placement of bituminous asphalt continuously or all four edges, and must be marked with orange construction barrels or safety cones.
