A property owner may remove, dig up or excavate an existing sidewalk. Prior to the removal, digging up or excavation of an existing sidewalk the property owner must give notice to the Town of Ashley Town Council by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the Town Clerk-Treasurer. Upon receipt of the certified notice the Town of Ashley will then assume the responsibility for removal of the debris within fifteen (15) days. The property owner digging up, removing or excavating his sidewalk will be responsible for payment of the costs incurred. The Town of Ashley shall assume the cost for removal of sidewalk debris.
