(a) Each permanent and temporary hourly employee of the City, who is employed thirty-two hours or more per week by the City, shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times his or her hourly rate of pay for each hour he or she is required to work excluding standing by, within a calendar week, in excess of the number of hours of said employee’s regular work week, including (as to permanent employees only) holidays, vacation, sick-leave time, and temporary military service (as provided by ordinance), provided such overtime work is determined by the department head to be necessary and said determination is approved by the appropriate appointing authority, and further provided that in no event shall one and one-half times the hourly rate of compensation be paid unless the employee works in excess of forty hours in said week.
(b) An hourly Street Division employee called in to work shall be paid for a minimum of one hour. Call-in time shall count as time worked in the calculation of overtime.
(c) A salaried employee of the City who is called out to repair a traffic signal device between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, or any time during weekends and holidays, shall be paid at a flat rate per call as provided by ordinance.
