In addition to the duties imposed by the general laws and ordinances, the Fire Chief shall relieve the regular drivers when necessary and act as driver during the times required by law for them to be relieved and during vacations. He shall be able to perform and shall be required to perform all the duties of a driver of the Fire Division while so serving.
The Fire Chief shall perform the regular fire inspections in the business and factory districts and conduct training for regular and volunteer firemen.
The Fire Chief shall perform such additional duties in the management and operation of the Fire Department as may be assigned to him by the Director of Public Safety, which are properly within the scope of the Fire Division.
