Any person who desires to move any building upon and over the streets and public grounds of the City shall make a written application to the Mayor for a permit. Such application shall set forth the kind of building to be moved, its dimensions, its extreme height and width, its present location, the particular lot or site to which it is proposed to be moved and the route upon which the building is to be moved. Upon such application being filed, the applicant shall deposit with the Building and Zoning Inspector a fee of forty dollars ($40.00) and also execute and deliver to the Mayor, payable to the City, a good and sufficient bond in the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000) to be approved by the Mayor, conditioned that such applicant shall properly care for and protect the streets and public grounds upon and over which such building is to be moved and not damage the streets, pavements, macadams or roadbeds upon and over which such building is to be moved in any respect, and if any damage is done, that he shall repair such streets, pavements, macadams or roadbeds and place the same in as good condition as before, all of such repairs to be made within a designated time at the expense of such applicant and to be made under the supervision of the Mayor. The bond shall be further conditioned that such applicant shall preserve and keep the City free and harmless from any costs, expenses, damages or claims for damages arising or growing out of the rights and privileges so granted. Thereupon the Mayor shall issue a permit designating therein the route and particular streets, alleys, avenues and public grounds over which such removal shall be made and the length of time allowed for such removal.
