§ 164.59  REGISTERING EXISTING SIGNS.
   (A)   The owners of all existing off-premises advertising signs constructed and in place prior to January 15, 2008, shall be required to obtain a permit by the procedures set forth in this subchapter and affix a permit emblem within 30 days after issuance of the permit. The permit shall be obtained within a period of 180 days beginning with the effective date of this chapter.
   (B)   All existing signs that require a permit that have not been registered within 180 days shall be in violation of this section and subject to the enforcement provisions of this chapter. Signs that are not registered in 180 days beginning with the effective date of this chapter must be permitted as new signs, and not permitted nonconforming signs and meet requirements for new signs.
