§ 156.49 PURPOSE.
The purpose of §§ 156.47 through 156.50 is to accommodate differences between traditional lot-by-lot residential subdivisions and planned unit developments, which are usually turn-key operations. Sections 156.47 through 156.50 encourage PUD proposals that have imagination and creativity in the design process to include preservation of open spaces and common areas and amenities, paved roads, and, if appropriate, community water and sewer systems, and promoting the general welfare, the Planning Board and planning staff reserve the right to modify the requirements in the existing residential subdivision ordinance for projects that are identified as PUD’s, since the overall aims of PUD’s cannot be accomplished without negotiations.
