Fees for residential building permits shall be based upon the total area of the building. Fees for commercial building permits shall be based upon the total cost of proposed work including all sub-contracts, if any. All building inspections permit fees shall be set by the Ashe County Board of Commissioners and will be kept on file with the Building Inspections Department. All work started before permitted is subject to a double permit fee. All permit fees for non- profit tax exempt organizations as described in G.S. § 105-278.3 are waived.
