§ 152.14 IN REM ACTION BY THE CITY ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
   After failure of an owner of a nonresidential building to comply with an order of the City Enforcement Officer issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter and upon adoption by the City Council of an ordinance authorizing and directing the owner to do so, as provided by G.S. § 160D-1129 and § 152.09(D), the City Enforcement Officer shall proceed to cause the nonresidential building to be repaired, altered, or improved to comply with the minimum standards established by this chapter, to be vacated and closed, or to be removed or demolished, as directed by the ordinance of the City Council. The City Enforcement Officer may cause to be posted on the main entrance of any nonresidential building that is to be vacated and closed a placard with the following words: "This building is unfit for any use; the use or occupation of this building for any purpose is prohibited and unlawful."
