1-4-3: MANDATORY FEES:
   A.   Corrections Fee:
      1.   Fee Established: Any person convicted of violating any provision of this code or any city ordinance, the penalty for which carries a potential jail term, or any ordinance relating to the operation of a motor vehicle shall pay to the municipal court, in addition to any fine or other sentence, a twenty dollar ($20.00) corrections fee. (Ord. 663, 6-10-2003, eff. 7-1-2003)
      2.   Disposition Of Funds: All money collected pursuant to this subsection shall be deposited in a special fund in the municipal treasury and shall be used only for municipal jailer training, the construction planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the municipal jail, for paying the costs of housing the city's prisoners in other detention facilities in the state or for complying with match or contribution requirements for the receipt of federal funds relating to jails.    B.   Judicial Education Fee:
      1.   Fee Established: Any person convicted of violating any provision of this code or any city ordinance, the penalty for which carries a potential jail term, or any ordinance relating to the operation of a motor vehicle shall pay to the municipal court, in addition to any fine or other sentence, a three dollar ($3.00) judicial education fee. (Ord. 822, 8-25-2009)
      2.   Disposition Of Funds: All money collected pursuant to this subsection shall be remitted monthly to the state treasurer for credit to the judicial education fund and shall be used for the education and training, including production of bench books and other written materials, of municipal judges and other municipal court personnel.    C.   Court Automation Fee:
      1.   Fee Established: Any person convicted of violating any provision of this code or any city ordinance, the penalty for which carries a potential jail term, or any ordinance relating to the operation of a motor vehicle, shall pay to the municipal court, in addition to any fine or other sentence, a six dollar ($6.00) court automation fee, to be effective July 1, 1998.
      2.   Disposition Of Funds: All money collected pursuant to this subsection shall be remitted monthly to the state treasurer for credit to the municipal court automation fund and shall be used for the purchase and maintenance of court automation systems in the municipal courts. The court automation system shall have the capability of providing, on a timely basis, electronic records in a format specified by the judicial information system council.
      3.   Application Of Provisions: All other sections of this code which are affected by this subsection shall be deemed to include the proper increase in court costs brought about by the change in the court automation fee. (Ord. 596, 5-12-1998)
