§ 70.39 REMOVAL AND IMPOUNDMENT OF VEHICLES PARKED OR TRAVELING IN VIOLATION.
   (A)   Any police officer, upon discovering any vehicle parked or stopped in violation of this code, or upon discovering any vehicle traveling in violation of this code, may remove such vehicle or cause the same to be removed to any town-owned property or to a private garage or place where so authorized pursuant to contract where such vehicle shall be impounded and retained and shall be released only upon payment of the appropriate amount of fines and expenses as specified in Chapter 36, Appendix A.
   (B)   Alternatively, any police officer, upon discovering any vehicle parked or stopped in violation of this code, or upon discovering any vehicle traveling in violation of this code, may issue a traffic citation for the amount of fines and expenses as specified in Chapter 36, Appendix A.
