§ 32.02 PAID HOLIDAYS.
   (A)   All regular full-time employees of the village may observe ten paid holidays during the calendar year, unless the employees are required to be on regular duty. These ten holidays shall be: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving Day, the day before Christmas Day, Christmas Day and a floating day.
   (B)   When a holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, the day observed by the state, nation or by proclamation shall be considered the holiday.
   (C)   Salaried employees who are required to be on duty on any holiday will be allowed an extra day’s pay at regular time or an additional day of vacation leave in accordance with the desires of the employee, with approval of the employee’s supervisor.
   (D)   Full-time employees who are paid on an hourly basis shall receive one day’s pay at regular time for any holiday listed in division (A) above. In the event that they are required to work on a holiday, they will receive compensation pay at a rate of one and one-half times the employee’s regular hourly rate for each hour worked on that holiday or additional day of vacation leave in accordance with the desires of the employee, with the approval of the employee’s supervisor.
   (E)   Floating day: the day allotted for this holiday will be taken when the timing thereof has the approval of the employee’s supervisor or department head.
