The individual elected to the office of Mayor under the general statutory plan of government for villages at the November, 1995 regular Municipal election shall continue to serve as Mayor under this Charter through December 31, 1999.
The Mayor shall be a qualified elector of the Municipality and shall be elected by the voters of the Municipality at municipal elections beginning 1999, and every fourth year thereafter, for a term of four years. This term shall commence on the first day of January following each election.
