(A) The Town Board of Trustees shall serve, ex officio, as the Municipal Board of Health and shall adopt and enforce such ordinances, rules, and regulations as it deems necessary for the protection of the public health.
(B) It shall be the general duty of the Municipal Board of Health to examine and consider all measures necessary for the preservation of the public health of residents of the town and to oversee enforcement of all ordinances and regulations in relation thereto.
(C) The Municipal Board of Health may appoint a Local Health Officer to carry out its health programs and policies. Until such appointment is made, the County Health Officer or his or her authorized representative (pursuant to an agreement between the town and the County Board of Health) may perform the duties of a Local Health Officer and enforce the public health ordinances of the town.
