(A) There is hereby created the office of Chief of the Fire Department. The Chief shall be appointed for an indefinite term by the Town Board of Trustees. His or her services may be terminated by death, resignation, or removal by said Town Board.
(B) The Chief shall be head of the Department, subject to the laws of the state, ordinances of this town, and the rules and regulations herein adopted. The Chief, subject to the supervision and control of the governing body, may contract to supply fire protection to owners of individual properties and shall establish, maintain, and administer an enterprise fund to finance costs for the operation of the Fire Department, consistent with state laws and this section.
