Employees may not carry over accrued vacation days from year to year unless they first obtain the written approval of the Mayor. A copy of said approval shall be placed in the employee’s personnel file to document such fact. Said approval must be executed before said vacation days are forfeited, and shall not be authorized on a retroactive basis. No more than two weeks of vacation may be carried over. If written approval is not obtained, then said vacation days shall be forfeited.
