(A) Weight limitations on certain highways.
(1) By ordinance of the Board of Supervisors as hereinbefore provided, a weight limit may be imposed on streets in the township when the Board of Supervisors feels that said limitation is necessary to protect and preserve said roadway. Said street shall be properly posted for the same, and person violating said weight limitation shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine as provided in § 70.99. Notwithstanding anything else in this division (A) to the contrary, no weight limit imposed by the township on any streets in the township shall apply to local deliveries, which shall be exempt from the weight limits contained herein.
(2) Weight limitations are hereby imposed upon the following township roads:

(B) Weight limitations on certain bridges.
(1) In accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 4902(a), vehicles and mechanized equipment of any kind in excess of the gross weight indicated are hereby prohibited from traveling on the following bridges:

(2) Any person operating a vehicle or combination upon a highway or bridge in violation of a prohibition or restriction imposed under this division (B) is guilty of a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $75, except that any person convicted of operating a vehicle with a gross weight in excess of a posted weight shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $150 plus $150 for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable weight.
