(A) An ad hoc committee of local citizens has studied the need for the creation of a park district and has reported a district would be conducive to the general welfare of the citizens of Shelby County.
(B) The county currently has insufficient park lands as determined by official recreation studies, and the population of the county is projected to continue to increase.
(C) The district is needed to provide areas of outdoor enjoyment, conservation, and open space for all of the county’s citizens, especially future generations.
(D) Pursuant to R.C. § 1545.02, this Board may apply to County Probate Judge for the creation of a park district.
(E) The Council applies to the judge of the Probate Court of Shelby County, Ohio, for the creation of a park district.
(F) The name of this proposed district shall be the Shelby County Park District, that the territory of the proposed district shall be all townships and municipal corporations of Shelby County, Ohio, and that a map of the county is attached herewith.
