GENERAL CODE PROVISIONS

35.04 COMPENSATION.

Members of the department are designated by rank and receive such compensation as shall be determined by resolution of the Council.

35.05 POLICE CHIEF APPOINTED.

The City Manager shall appoint the Police Chief in accordance with the provisions of Section 400.13 of the Code of Iowa, subject to Council approval.

35.06 ACTING POLICE CHIEF.

Whenever the Police Chief is unable to act or perform the duties of the office for any reason (including those periods of time during which the City Manager has not appointed a Police Chief), the City Manager may designate some other member of the police department to carry out the duties of the Police Chief.
