For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CONNECTION. The meter, pipes, valves, and appurtenances necessary to supply water from a water line through the meter to a customer, but this does not include the customer line.
PRIVATE WATER SUPPLY. Water procured through a well, underground aquifer, rain capture system, or other means of water collection not provided by the City.
WATER LINE. Any pipe that carries water for the City is a water line. A WATER LINE is the physical distribution means located in streets, highways, public, and private rights-of-way which supply water for general public usage.
WATER SERVICE. The provision of a metered service by the City to an individual customer for the purposes of activities such as, but is not limited to, consumption or manufacturing or domestic use or agriculture or processing activities. It includes, but is not limited to, the pipes, valves, and appurtenances necessary to supply water from the meter for customer usage. The charges applied to the WATER SERVICE are payable to the City.
WATER SYSTEM or WATER INFRASTRUCTURE. The City’s water utility enterprise, to include, but not limited to, its facilities, pipes, lines, reservoirs, treatment plant, intake system, and valves, and other apparatus up to the metered connection.
