Construction of new structures of Group R occupancy containing dwelling units located more than 1 story above or below the level of exit discharge, shall be required to provide passenger elevator service to all occupied floors in accordance with Chapter 30 of the IBC.
Exception: Structures built in compliance with the IRC.
