7-2-20: SWIMMING IN RIVER:

It shall be unlawful for a person to enter or exit the Mississippi River in connection with swimming or wading as a recreational activity upon any public property within the city.

"Public property", as used in this section, shall include any and all property owned by the city including, but not limited to, the Alton public boat launch area and the Alton Marina area. (Ord. 6341, 11-25-1998)
