6-1-7: NAMING OF STREETS, PARKS AND PUBLIC PROPERTIES:
After any street, park or other City owned property is initially named by appropriate actions of the Corporate Authorities of the City, any subsequent change of the name of any street, park or other City owned properties shall not be considered by the Corporate Authorities until and unless a public hearing is held before the Corporate Authorities of the City at which all interested persons shall be granted reasonable opportunity to present their views to the Corporate Authorities of the City. Notice of such a public hearing shall be provided to the general public in compliance with procedures utilized from time to time to give notice of a public meeting of the City Council. In addition, notice of such a public hearing on the question of the change of the name of a street, park or other City owned properties shall be given to the owners of record or all real estate which adjoins the street, park or other City owned property the name of which is proposed to be changed, or is within two hundred fifty feet (250') of said property. Said notice shall, at a minimum, give the date, time and place of the public hearing to be held before the Corporate Authorities, the subject matter of the question to be considered at said public hearing and the current name of the property affected and the proposals, if any, for a new name of said property.
