A. The equipment services division shall operate as a separate division of the public works department under the direction of the public works director. The duties of the equipment services division shall be assigned by the equipment maintenance operations supervisor, and they shall include, but not be limited to, the operation of the city garage; the repair and maintenance of city vehicles and equipment; and the storage and utilization of fuel and other supplies with regard to city equipment.
B. The equipment maintenance operations supervisor shall be qualified by education, knowledge, and experience in the maintenance and operation of municipal equipment. The equipment maintenance operations supervisor shall be employed under the civil service regulations of the city of Alton. (Ord. 7232, 12-15-2010)
