1-5-2: MEETINGS:
   A.   Regular Meetings: The city council shall hold regular meetings on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at the hour of six thirty o'clock (6:30) P.M. in the council chambers at the city hall, except in the month of November, if the city council meeting would regularly fall on the evening prior to Thanksgiving Day, the regular meeting of the city council shall be held on the Tuesday evening immediately preceding the fourth Wednesday which would be Thanksgiving Eve, and except in the month of December, during such month the city council shall hold its regular meetings on the second and third Wednesdays, all meetings to be held at the said time and location. The standing committee shall meet at six o'clock (6:00) P.M. at the said location on the Monday immediately preceding any city council meeting convened pursuant to this subsection. When the day fixed for any regular meeting of the city council or standing committee falls upon a day designated by law as a legal or national holiday, or upon Christmas Eve, such meetings shall be held at the same hour on the next secular day following. An adjourned meeting may be held for the purpose of completing the unfinished business of a regular meeting at such time as may be determined by the city council.    B.   Special Meetings: Special meetings of the city council may be called by the mayor or any three (3) aldermen whenever in their discretion they may deem it necessary, in which event such meetings shall be called in the following manner after forty eight (48) hours' notice: The mayor, or three (3) aldermen, as the case may be, shall file in the office of the city clerk a statement, in writing, setting forth the object, purpose, time and place of said special meeting and directing the city clerk to give notice of the same. Upon the filing of such statement, the city clerk shall cause a notice of such special meeting to be served personally upon each member of the city council, or by notice left at his place of residence, and which notice shall set forth the object, purpose, time and place of said special meeting. No business shall be transacted at said meeting except such as is stated in the notice. (Ord. 3171, 4-10-1963; amd. 1973 Code; 1999 Code)
