3-4-1: DEFINITIONS:
The words and phrases when used in this chapter shall have the meanings defined and set forth below:
FARE: That portion of the charge for hire of a taxicab which is automatically calculated by the taximeter through the operation of the mileage and time mechanism.
HOLDER: A person to whom a license has been issued.
PERSON: Includes an individual, a corporation or other legal entity, a partnership and any unincorporated association.
TAXICAB: A motor vehicle used in the transportation of passengers for hire over the public streets of the town of Alta, Utah, and not operated over a fixed route or upon a fixed schedule, but is subject to contract for hire by persons desiring special trips from one point to another. It does not include an automobile rental licensed under any other section of this code. (1980 Code § 9-710)
