§ 90.026 NOTICE OF IMPOUNDMENT.
   (A)   Whenever an animal is impounded under the provisions of this chapter and the owner or keeper is readily ascertainable, the ACO shall, within 24 hours and excluding weekends and holidays, notify the owner/keeper in writing by leaving a copy of such notice at the owner’s/keeper’s last known address advising the owner/keeper that the animal is in custody of the AAS and that the owner/keeper has 72 hours to remove the animal from AAS or such animal will become property of the city and may be disposed of or adopted out by the ACO.
   (B)   Any dog seized under this chapter which is unacceptable for impoundment due to serious injury or being infected with a communicable disease may be immediately disposed of in a humane manner.
   (C)   No animal shall be reclaimed unless:
      (1)   It has had either a one-year or a three-year rabies shot and is deemed up to date per a veterinarian;
      (2)   The impounding boarding fee, as established herein, has been paid; and
      (3)   All other monetary fines or fees required of this chapter have been paid in full.
