§ 31.51 RECREATION DIRECTOR.
   (A)   The position of Recreation Director is hereby created.
   (B)   The Recreation Director shall be appointed by the Mayor.
   (C)   The Recreation Director shall be subject to the authority of the Mayor, and shall receive immediate supervision and direction from the Mayor.
   (D)   The Recreation Director is a supervisory position to the employees, facilities, equipment and activities of the Calvin A. Perry Community Center Manager and the parks of the city:
      (1)   Assisting administratively in maintaining proper procedures in the rental of the hall, gym and annex A & B, including without limitation the oversight and implementation of the related budgets, and advise the Public Works Director regarding the maintenance needs of the facilities;
      (2)   Communicate accurately with employees, government agencies, and the general public regarding the Calvin A. Perry Community Center and the City of Alexandria Park and Recreation Board;
      (3)   Oversees the activities of City of Alexandria Park and Recreation Board, including without limitation the oversight and implementation of the related budgets, and advise the Public Works Director regarding the maintenance needs of the park facilities;
      (4)   Manage and direct the recreation program of the city;
      (5)   Perform the duties as set forth in the job description for the position of Recreation Director, which may be revised from time to time; and
      (6)   Perform other duties as directed by the Mayor.
   (E)   The Recreation Director shall possess sufficient qualifications, education and experience in order to effectively carry out the duties of the position, and as set forth in the job description for the position of Recreation Director, which may be revised from time to time.
   (F)   Compensation for the Recreation Director shall be set forth in the city’s Job Descriptions, Classifications and Salary Ranges for City Employees of the City’s Personnel Policies; and shall be the amount as provided for in the city’s fiscal year budget.
   (G)   The city shall develop a comprehensive job description for the Recreation Director, including a detailed list of duties and responsibilities; and shall amend the Job Descriptions, Classifications And Salary Ranges For City Employees of the City’s Personnel Policies accordingly.
