All occupation taxes collected in accordance with the provisions of this chapter shall be paid to the Village Treasurer at the time specified in this chapter, and such Treasurer shall issue and deliver a receipt therefor upon payment thereof, and the amount so paid shall be credited by the Village Treasurer to the General Fund of the village, unless otherwise directed by the Village Board.
